189 – The Guide’s Guide – What are Guides?

Guides

Over the years, I’ve had several questions on Spirit Guides. The following entries will attempt to answer ones such as, what are Guides? How do you communicate and who can be your Guide(s)?

Guides are something that can be controversial. Many believe they exist while others would argue they are imaginary. That they are a figment of an active or deluded mind.

They aren’t. I’ve had too much evidence to dismiss them as just my imagination. Also, my Guides never gave me the option of dismissing or denying them.

They do exist, though it’s not a given that everyone has them. Or if they do, they are, by default, all wise and all knowing.

What are Guides?

Navigating this world can be tricky without aid. Thanks to the human body, we are often restricted to what we can sense on the 3D level.

While there are ways to counter and overcome such restrictions, such as using intuition, having a Guide or two can be a very handy, and practical solution.

A Guide is someone, or something, that gives you guidance on what you should do, which direction you should go, and what dangers you should avoid. Some can be incarnated into a body (human or animal), though some beings don’t function well when in the 3D levels.

They can also do research on your behalf if you are seeking answers to something.

Yes, even Guides need to do research at times. Even in the Astral, at least at these levels, many things are still hidden, and secrets are kept for various reasons. Not everyone has access to the same information. Not everyone appreciates others snooping around or asking questions.,

Secretaries

A good Guide will have access to many useful, and sometimes, obscure resources.

If you have a Guide, they will do many things for you that you will be hard pressed to do in a body.

You could liken them to a secretary who does all the leg work and reports back to you.

But like secretaries, some are better than others. Not all Guides are created equally. Some are just more experienced and, by their very nature, better for some jobs. It all depends on their skill set, demeaner and Soul evolutionary level.

Who Guides Help

Just because a Soul, or Spirit, has chosen to be a Guide, it does not follow that they are going to do it for just anybody.

Not all are breaking their proverbial necks to be rushing to help you. In fact, the best Guides often have better things to do than just hanging around and sorting out human stuff.

This may sound judgmental and harsh, but it’s just a fact. Good Guides cost and the best Guides may want something that is hard to come by or rare.

Generally, the currencies used are things such as Soul Energy, service, information, Soul growth or even, in some cases, Souls themselves. Also, things such as artifacts (generally Astral based) can often be used as payment. (Assuming you own them and they are yours to give or pass on.)

What Do You Need?

What makes a Guide good? That would depend on your needs. It’s always going to be relative to who you are and your current circumstances and goals.

Some are specialized in gathering information. Some are amazing planners, and some are wonderful protectors. (And some are all three rolled into one.)

You don’t need specialized Guides for every person or life. Sometimes it’s just enough that you have someone keeping an eye on things and watching out for you.

Why Do Guides Help?

There are various reasons why Guides will aid you.

Some will be happy to help just because they are part of your Soul family.

Maybe they owe you a favor or need one from you at some point.

Perhaps they are helping you, to help themselves or to gain experiences they would find hard to gain otherwise.

And, as mentioned, many do it for an exchange of some kind.

Not Always What They Seem

I don’t believe that Guides are random. There is always a reason why they are in your life.

I’ve heard many people claim they have Chinese or Native American Guides, but unless they have a prior association with them, I seriously doubt they are who they say they are.

Which brings me to another point. Your Guides are not their bodies.

If their past body just happened to be Chinese or whatever race they say they are, it doesn’t follow that this is what their Soul is.

Yes, it’s possible that they may belong to a Soul collective that has manifested on certain continents of the world, but it does not mean they are that race, and that race only.

In fact, if a Guide insists this is so, chances are that they have forgotten who they really are and have not yet moved on from this Astral level.

Energy, Not Culture

Souls are more energy rather than a culture. I have been in many different countries over my many incarnations, but you would not call me Indian, Chinese, Australian, Norse or what have you.

Those are lifetimes. Not identities of the Soul.

To me, it almost demeans the Guide to reduce them to such a status.

I’m more inclined to accept that someone has, say, a dragon or Lyran (Cat Race), for instance, as a Guide. Those type of beings are quite common.

Names

I’ve also heard some very ordinary names for Guides, such as Tom or Paul or some Asian type name or something of the like.

Those are Earth names. They rarely apply to the higher dimensional levels.

True names are vibrations, and the higher the energy, the less probability and possibility of being able to say the name in a spoken form.

Some names are simply a feeling. We give names to things so we can identify them and have a frame of reference. Do not think, though, that if a Guide gives you a name, that is their true name.

In fact, any Soul worth their salt would never give their true name. Knowing someone’s true name can give you power over them.  It will allow you to bind them and even mess with their energies.

So, if you must, call your Guides by a name that works for you, but know that it’s most likely fake.
