Free fantasy book – The Secret of the Double Rainbow.

Just a compulsive writer…

Before I was into writing nonfiction, I spent decades trying to write fantasy fiction.

Many of the results, at least to my mind, ended up being so cringe that I could barely bear to look at it years later. (Though my friends would be nice and encourage me at the time.)

I’ve always been a compulsive writer. I took an elective typing course at school at a time when only girls tended to take them. (Mid 1970s.)

I would take out my father’s old wartime portable typewriter and use that to practice and write the seeds of novels.

None of them were ever any good.

When I wasn’t writing novels, I was writing pages and pages of my diary. I ended up with 52 exercise books, all written by hand, before I got my first word processor around the mid-80s.

In the meantime, I’d keep writing short stories and attempts at novels.

There was only one book I was remotely happy with. The first draft was written in 1995. It was inspired by my finding out about Bach Flower Remedies.

I sat down at my computer, started to write it with zero plot in mind, and watched as it turned into what I feel is a cohesive novel.

I tweaked it on and off for about 22 years.

It’s called The Secret of the Double Rainbow. Those who read it seemed to really like it.
