91 – Legion – Aftermath

Overwhelmed

The next day, the 18th of July, 2014, Omen spent a lot of time both online and offline mulling over the decision to accept the Legion. He spoke to whoever would listen; but in the end, said he didn’t feel he had a choice.

I also had a sense of inevitability about things, so I told him I would ward him to prevent him from taking any damage.

Omen accepted. When he was ready, the Legion was passed on to him.

I’m not sure of the actual mechanics, but he described it as being overwhelmed. He also had no clue what he was supposed to do.

It’s fair to say, there were a couple of days of confusion and he certainly was not himself. In fact, it’s probably fair to say that he never was quite the same. Our daily chats pretty much ended at that point, and something in our dynamic shifted.

Severus

Initially, from what I could tell, Omen was keeping all of the Legion in his body. Or at the very least, the demons he had been given. Apparently, they were the weak ones and approximately five or six thousand in number.

Initially, they gave him three weeks to get used to them. Then they started to train and coach him as to what he needed to do.

The Legion were said to be like a hive-mind, though they did have individual personalities.

Eventually, Omen decided to keep them in a pet snake whom he called Severus. (Yes, it was clearly a play on words.)

They also worked on changing him from a demonic to an actual demon.

As the weeks went on, I found I was talking to him less and less.

Coven

One day, Omen mentioned while he was out hunting, someone had thrown Holy Water all over him. Soon, he found himself being summoned by a coven of witches.

It appeared the coven wanted to Bind him to a new body so the original host, Celeste, could return.

To placate him, they would feed him souls of victims they had Bound. Omen thought that was great, as it was essentially free food.

I didn’t like this at all, and insisted that I should intervene; but Omen asked me to give him till the next full moon to sort it out himself.

The full moon came and went, without incident, or any further mention of the situation.

A while later, I randomly entered into a Spiritual chat room and, to my amazement, I found someone talking about Omen. They went on to say how he had a new Master. It was the leader of the coven.

This technically should not have been possible as I still had the Binds, but I suspect there was some deal in progress that made them believe it.

I decided to confront him about it, and he literally freaked out. Told me not to interfere, then had the audacity to blame my wards for not lasting.

It was all going to Hell. More accurately, Hell was coming to us. Whatever Omen was up to, I felt it wasn’t going to work. I knew he had some plan to screw over the coven and also take out The Triquerta while he was at it.

Sleep

In the other timelines, where Seth came from, I knew that eventually he realized he was in way over his head, and he asked for my help. But in this particular timeline, he didn’t. He decided to go work with the group known as The Council of 12, the ones who had enslaved him in the first place. Not that he knew or remembered that.

Shortly afterwards, I heard that Omen had been put to sleep for three weeks and one of the Legion was standing in for him. Before I get into that, there are a few other things I feel I need to discuss first.

Next: The Council of 12
