Three Rules
Last entry, we looked at why you should consider looking at your Belief System and changing it. This entry we will look at three rules you should implement to help protect yourself from unintended consequences.
Changing your Belief System is an art. It’s tricky, because you might manifest something you did not intend.
What you want and what you need are two different things. From personal experience, I’ve found that what I thought I needed in my early years would have ended up being, not only detrimental to me, but would have completely pulled me off my current path.
Things are not always what they seem.
Redefine
For instance, you might believe you need to be in a relationship, have a partner, family, and so on.
For some, this may well be true, but for others, they find that it doesn’t fill the void of loneliness that they may feel. Depression, isolation, anxiety, and many other emotions will still be there after the honeymoon period has passed.
What’s worse, they will find themselves stuck in a loveless marriage that is hard to get out from without major trauma and consequences. They may wish they had never gone down that road to begin with.
There are certain rules that are good to put into place before you change or redefine your Belief Systems. These rules are also good for manifesting in general.
There are three primary instructions that I strongly suggest everyone put into their personal Belief System.
Rule 1
Long term benefits over short term gains.
What it will do for you.
If what you are asking for will hurt you in the long run, it won’t happen. Things will seemingly fail to work or fall apart for no apparent reason. This is because, while it may seem like a blessing now, in the long term, it will block your path or cause you problems you never expected.
Example
For myself, when I was 16, I desperately wanted to have a girlfriend in my life. Should that have happened, I would not have had the pull to keep working on my spiritual evolution and the major events that put me firmly on this current path could not have happened.
Every attempt I made failed. It was like there was a curse on me. (Technically, there was, but wasn’t strong enough to prevent relationships from forming.)
Any success would have negated what I was trying to do. I just did not understand why at the time.
When I started manifesting, I was concerned that I might create something that would cause trouble for me down the line. Even if it was great at that moment.
By setting the intention that anything that caused me long term issues would be blocked, it effectively prevented those things that could have messed up my life.
When I set this rule for myself, I made it so it could not be revoked or violated. It would be in place, no matter what.
Rule 2
If something is negative, it won’t happen.
What this will do for you.
It’s very hard to know what is positive or negative in our life. The most traumatic events might well be the catalyst to put you on the path you need. I can certainly think of a few of them in my own life.
Example
For instance, when I was 13, I was crossing the road and got hit by a car. I was flung 15 meters back to the side of the road. This broke my leg in two places and damaged my hearing and coordination.
You may think, wow, I don’t see much good coming out of that, but you’d be wrong.
From it, I first learned about my ability to heal myself and once I had recovered, my life went on a different direction as it inspired me to look after my health better.
From there, everything else followed.
Now, I’m not saying that you need to go out and get hit by a car, but it does highlight that good and bad things are not always obvious.
Even winning the lottery might not be such a blessing. There is a saying that, if you want to ruin someone’s life, have them win the lottery.
Just trust that the Universe knows what you really need and has your back. You might not want to hear the answers or like what you find, but long term you’ll be thankful you trusted in it.
Rule 3
The information and knowledge that you need and is right for you, will find you.
What this will do for you.
This is vital because there is a lot of misinformation out there. Some is based on fear, some is based on fluff and some is just information borne out of pure ignorance.
Using this as a base rule will ensure that you will find out, discover or come across the information that you need to know.
This will not only occur at the right time for you, but also through synchronicities that will look so contrived that they would be thrown out if they appeared in a movie script.
It will mean knowing the right thing at the right time. It might be the most inconsequential piece of information that sticks in your mind until suddenly, years later, it comes in handy.
I’ve lost count of the amount of times this has happened for me.
It will also mean that the knowledge you should have about how the Astral levels work, what is out there, and what you need to do to safeguard yourself will also come.
Rampa
Example
One example for me was when I was directed to read, through synchronicity, a set of books by an author called Tuesday Lobsang Rampa.
His writings revealed many things to me that felt true. However, he was also wrong about many other things he wrote. I just took it all on board, though.
I accepted it all as gospel at the time. It was my main source back in the 80s. For a few years, I did not bother to look for other sources. (Please never confine yourself to just one source of knowledge or information, it will limit you in the end.)
When I was ready, I sought out new sources of knowledge. As the years went on, new information kept on coming, and I had to adjust, each time with a sinking feeling that I did not know nearly as much as I believed I did.
Accepting only one source as gospel is very dangerous because fact, mixed with misinformation, whether by design or ignorance, can block you from knowing what you really need to know.
As I started to discover new knowledge, I reluctantly had to admit that Rampa was more wrong than right. I had to redefine my Belief System completely. Something I have done several times in my life.
It is important to be open to new data. There are fans of Rampa’s work who feel that his is the last and only word on esoteric information. They not only block themselves from progress, and dismiss new knowledge, but also risk being exposed to unexpected dangers.
Beware of Half-Truths
Often, the information you discover, will find it will contradict what you think you already know. In fact, chances are, it will be in direct opposition to what society believes and what you have been told is true.
Trust in your experiences, run it through your feelings to see what resonates, and seek out more sources of knowledge on the subjects you feel a draw to.
Also, beware of half-truths.
Half-truths take a fact, and then add misinformation to it. You will possibly sense the truth behind it and may assume it’s all true. It may even be life-changing for you.
The part that is true will open you up to new paths, but the misinformation may lead you into dangerous situations.
Don’t dismiss it all, though. Take what is working for you and set the intention to discover the rest.
Finally, even though you have found answers that work for you, remember there is always more information on the subject. Never feel that you know it all. There is always something to discover. It might be just one piece of information that can change your perspectives on everything.
The more you know, the more protected and aware you can be.
Next entry, we’ll look at creating the Belief System itself.
