180 – Good Intentions and Hell

The Road to Hell With Good Intentions

How important are Intentions? Do good or bad  Intentions really make a difference? Can you end up in Hell, even if they are well-meaning?

There’s an old saying that goes:   The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

This is commonly said to be first published by Henry G. Bohn in A Hand-book of Proverbs back in 1855. Earlier versions are said to be, “Hell is full of good meanings and wishes.” No doubt there are many other variations on this theme that have been said over the past millennia.

It’s an interesting proverb, as I’ve heard it used a few times. Often with the allusion that if you do things in a certain way, no matter how right you believe it is, then you will still end up in Hell.

Is Hell Even Real?

We could debate if Heaven or Hell actually exist and whether we will end up there for Eternity, but that’s not really the point of this post.

Admittedly, I never used to believe that Hell existed. I also never believed in angels and demons.

For what it’s worth, I do believe that those places (and way more) are real.  However, I will qualify that in maintaining I don’t believe they are what we have been taught to believe.

In the Realm of the Relative, where all things exist in their extreme polar opposites; I am certain that everything, including Heaven and Hell, exists.

The Astral being what it is, means we can create anything we desire. Belief creates Reality and Reality reinforces belief.

Also, Omen, on several occasions, mentioned both Heaven and Hell, in passing. So, I know it exists in some way.

Right and Wrong

Which brings me to my question:   Can good Intentions have you end up in Hell?

The short answer is no.

The longer answer is a little more nuanced.

It is stated that all of our actions are based on World view and personal beliefs. Whether those beliefs are “right,” “wrong,” or delusional is a matter of perspective.

Even demonics and angelics believe that what they are doing is the right thing for themselves.

No one really believes their own views are wrong. At least, not their core ones.

They may hide their true Intentions behind facades, doublespeak, or deliberate deception.  But in their mind, they feel justified in doing so. Even if they feel it’s the wrong thing to do, they will always have their reasons.

Intentions

Every action, thought, word and deed helps to define and attune us. Where we eventually end up will depend on what energies and vibrational levels we have attuned ourselves to.

The key behind this all is Intention.

Malicious Intentions will produce negative, toxic results.

Pure Intentions will produce positive results.

And mixed Intentions will produce mixed results.

When we decide to do something, our motivation will play a large part on what we attune to.

To simplify things, there are four possible outcomes with Intention.

The Four Outcomes

Lose / Lose – In this scenario, both parties end up losing out. This could be due to a self-destructive mindset. This is common when a marriage breaks up. Both parties may feel anger, spite, or a desire for revenge, and will cause as much harm to their ex, even if it ends up hurting themselves.

Lose / Win – This is the attitude of a Martyr. They will sacrifice themselves for the good of others. This may come from a misplaced sense that suffering and sacrifice are Godly, or maybe they are coming from a victim mentality. Either way, they will put their interest last and lose out, even if there is no need.

Win / Lose – Generally done by those who have the Intention to exploit, cheat, or take advantage of others. Scammers, questionable salespeople, and bosses are some examples. The Intention is always to come out ahead, regardless of how others may fare.

Win / Win – This Intention is for all parties to achieve an outcome for the better.  Everyone will benefit from decisions being made and no one will be left behind.

Even those who may appear to make a sacrifice to help others can benefit if the Intention is to gain valuable experiences that may not otherwise be obtained.

Win / Win

It’s a no brainer that we should strive towards the Win / Win paradigm. Even if things don’t work out as planned, what will matter is the Intention and the genuine attempts to make it all work.

At the very least, you will gain experience on what not to do for future endeavors, which is just as important as knowing what to do.

It’s also important to ensure that, even with good Intentions, that what you do is not forced upon others. Helping someone or trying to “fix” them when they have not asked for help, would fall under the Lose / Lose category.

Make sure that you have a clear Soul call and ensure that all parties agree with what you intend to do.

Clear Expectations

If you do help someone and they don’t appreciate it, then it is what it is. Unless you set out for appreciation from another, or were after an exchange of some type, but did not state that, then you are helping for the wrong reasons.

Be honest about your motivations. There is nothing wrong with wanting thanks or something in return in exchange for help or a service.

But pushing one agenda while hiding behind another is never a good idea. Your Soul only cares that you’re being true to who you are and not what you are pretending to be.

In Conclusion

Good Intentions do not lead you to damnation and Hell. Just make sure you understand your motives and why you are doing something. The rest should take care of itself.
